Skills Maintenance
You must complete skills maintenance every year. The main reasons are to keep your skills sharp and up to date. IF you dont complete it by 31st December, you cannot patrol, compete, operate rescue craft until you do.
The annual Skills Maintenance testing includes:
- Online Theory: First, you must log in to the SLSA eLearning platform (the members' hub) and complete the online theory modules for your awards. You have to do this before you attend the practical
- Practical Session: Second, you must book and attend a practical skills session at the club. This is where you physically show you can still perform the key skills for your awards.
The club will host skills maintenance dates at the start of the season and all dates will be advertised on the club notice board, club website and via Team App.
Upcoming Skills Maintenance Sessions
Most up to date Skills Maintenance information is detailed here: Skills Maintenance 2025/2026.
Please make sure you book before attending. Session dates and times will be provided
Pool Swim
If you are proficient in your Bronze Medallion or SRC from last season you are NOT required to perform a recorded swim as part of your Skills Maintenance this season. If you are not currently proficient and you wish to do your timed pool swim without a Coolum Beach Surf Life Saving Club accredited assessor, please contact the club for a copy of the pool swim form.
