Coolum Beach Surf Life Saving Club - Training Courses
Coolum Beach Surf Lifesaving Club is always looking for new members to Volunteer Patrol our beautiful beaches wearing the “red & yellow” uniform of our iconic lifesaving movement. Our club offers training and awards to members of any ability that are wanting to become competent and confident volunteer lifesavers. Coolum Beach SLSC has its own qualified volunteer trainers who conduct regular Bronze Medallion, Surf Rescue Certificate and Award Member courses. Once you have gained your Award, you will be added to the patrol roster and expected to perform rostered volunteer beach patrols at Coolum Surf Lifesaving Club throughout each season. The rostered patrol shifts are approximately one 5.5 hour patrol per month on a Weekend or Public Holiday. The season runs from September to May each year.
To enable you to partake in training courses you must become a financial club member and hold a valid Blue Card (working with children card). Blue Card LogIn Whilst, the Bronze Medallion is synonymous with Surf Life Saving, it isn't the only course you can do to join the club and patrol. If swimming isn't your thing, there is always the option of becoming an Award Member and obtaining your First Aid, Radio Operators, Observer Award and more .
Once you've joined the club you are most welcome, in fact it is encouraged, to do as many other courses as you can do to expand your knowledge and help cover required skills on your patrol.
Below are the courses available to you when joining:

Not ready to become part of Coolum Surf Club but still want to help?
It takes a lot of money to run a surf lifesaving club; from the equipment needed on the beach (vehicles, boards, IRBs, first aid kits, defibrillators etc) to administration and training to facilitate patrolling.
So if you can't join us, support us through one of the following options.
