Wave of the Year – and it was only the 3rd of January 2023!

Witnessed by David C, Mick S and Noel B who watched Steve pick up an absolute bomb, way out the back, on an already reasonably large day.

Steve came steaming down the line on this huge face, just going for it, beating sections that looked like it would clean him up.  It was true surf magazine stuff.  He flew past us and got cleaned up big time – naturally losing his board.  We saw him surface and everyone, even the surfers, were yahooing him.  That was the last we saw of him.  We figured he probably made it in …(What are club mates for?
