Patrol 2 - Mass Rescue - 24th Feb 2024

Published: March 06, 2024 Last Updated: March 07, 2024

Special thanks to David S who had four patients, plus himself, hanging off one board. The IRB threw out their tube to a patient whilst continuing to circle, being unable to do a pickup until the end of the set. Plus two others were being rescued via tubes.

David and Flynn also did a mini mass rescue on changeover, and Patrol 02 did another 4 individual rescues during the PM patrol.

They would like to give special thanks is given to our trainers, whose expert training prepared the team to seamlessly handle such a mass rescue.

They would also like to re-irrerate how essential it is that our members continue to attend as many board training sessions as possible.  The board was vital in the trying conditions as the choice of rescue craft.

Well done everyone!

Not ready to become part of Coolum Surf Club but still want to help?

It takes a lot of money to run a surf lifesaving club; from the equipment needed on the beach (vehicles, boards, IRBs, first aid kits, defibrillators etc) to administration and training to facilitate patrolling.

So if you can't join us, support us through one of the following options.
