How to Become a Lifesaver at Coolum Beach Surf Lifesaving Club

Becoming an active member of Coolum Beach SLSC is a rewarding experience and provides an invaluable volunteer service to our local community. Our volunteer lifesavers are committed to preventing drowning deaths and overseeing the safety of all beachgoers. To join Coolum Beach Surf Lifesaving Club you will need to complete one of our lifesaving training courses that give you the required qualifications to begin volunteer patrolling on the beach. Not to worry if swimming isn’t your thing, there is something for everyone no matter age, gender, culture or swimming ability .

Joining the Club: Step by Step Process

Step 1: Contact us to Express Your Interest.

Step 2: Join Coolum Beach Surf Life Saving Club and Make Membership Fee Payment.

Step 3: Apply for a Blue Card, link an existing Blue Card to Coolum Surf Club or apply for an exemption.

Step 4: Get your USI (Unique Student Identifier).

Step 5:: Once you have completed the above steps, you will be required to enrol into the next available courses to begin your volunteer patrol journey with us here at Coolum Beach SLSC. Our administration team will assist you to set up an online learning portal and guide you on how to enrol in the courses. Upcoming Training.

Not ready to become part of Coolum Surf Club but still want to help?

It takes a lot of money to run a surf lifesaving club; from the equipment needed on the beach (vehicles, boards, IRBs, first aid kits, defibrillators etc) to administration and training to facilitate patrolling.
