New Members Information

New members are always welcome to join our club. The main award that new members obtain is the "Bronze Medallion" (certificate II in Public safety and aquatic rescue). Eligibility is subject to the following pre-requisites:

1. 15 years of age at assessment
2. Complete a Pool swim of 400m in 9 minutes or less.

Our club also requires you to apply for a "Working with Children" blue card which we will assist you with. You can then commence a bronze medallion course which usually involves 1 night a week and 1 day on the weekend for approximately 6-8 weeks.

Should you not be able to swim 400m in 9 mins or less, there are other courses for awards available to you such as Radio Operators Certificate (ROC) and Apply First Aid (AFA) for you to be a patrolling member on our beach.
