Volunteer Lifesavers patrol Coolum Beach on weekends and public holidays from September to April each year. Proficient members form part of a rostered Patrol team which can include award holders of the Bronze Medallion, Advanced Resusitation Techniques Certificate, IRB Crewman and Driver Certificates, Operational First Aid, Radio Operators Certificate and Surf Rescue Certificate to name a few.

Surf Sports 

Many members participate in competition throughout the year to maintain their fitness and lifesaving skills. The club competes successfully from local to national levels in various categories of Surf Sports ranging from Beach, Water and Rescue events through to Surfboats and IRBs.


Each year around September the Coolum Beach Nippers commence their season of Surf Awareness and Training. Each year many of the Nippers also compete in local, state and national surf lifesaving competitions. Ages start from 7 years old as at 30th September. Click Here for more information.

Online Membership Renewals

Club memberships expire at the end of July. 

All membership renewals can now be done online through your lifesaving online account. Please click here

Membership fee payments can be made through SLSA's Payment Gateway. Please click here for payment options and membership fee details and here to see if you are on the free membership list for 2014-15.

Nipper Season Starting Soon

Nippers at Coolum Beach will be starting in just over a month. So if you are interested in joining our Nipper Season (need to be at least 7 years old as at 30th September) you will need to act soon.

There will be a Nipper Information and Sign On day for anyone interested in joining nippers at Coolum for the first time at 1pm on Sunday 24th August. Surf Safety and Brisbane Collection

This years annual Surf Safety Appeal and Brisbane Collection are set for the weekends 6th, 7st and 13th, 14th September.

This is a great opportunity to get the Surf Awareness message out to the public while accepting much needed funds to purchase the vital lifesaving equipment we use each season to patrol our beach.

Participation in the collection also forms part of the competitor funding criteria for 2014-15.

Your help to raise funds for the club is vital.
