Coolum Beach SLSC is committed to providing a safe environment for children and youth in our care.

The Club’s Child and Youth Risk Management Strategy establishes direction and focus for our members in providing a safe and supportive environment for children and young people in our care.

The Strategy and resources addresses the following eight key mandatory elements:

• Statement of Commitment
• Codes of Conduct for interacting with children and young people
• Procedures for recruitment, selecting, training, and managing paid employees and volunteers that enhance the safety and well-being of children and young people in our care
• Policies and procedures for handling disclosures and suspicions of harm
• Policies and procedures to manage a breach of the C&YRMS
• Risk management planning process for High Risk Activities and Special Events
• Policies and procedures for implementing and reviewing our C&YRMS and compliance with Part 6 of the Act (Blue Cards)
• Strategies for communication and support for all stakeholders including children and young people

All members of Coolum beach Surf Life Saving Club Inc are bound by the Statement of Commitment and strategy. Should any member reasonably suspect that a breach has occurred then they must immediately contact the Club’s Grievance Officers, the Club President or Deputy President, Queensland Police Service, or Department of Communities.
