What a busy time of the year it is for our nippers. Over the last two weekends, Coolum nippers have been battling it out with the best across all events and all clubs in our branch.
Branch Titles
Our nippers have been growing in skills and confidence over the year and were ready for this challenge. It was excellent to see almost all of our nipper’s progress to Semi Finals in almost every event. The success didn’t stop at Semi’s for Coolum we had some rising stars reach finals in Board Relays, Board Rescues, Swim Teams, Sprint Relays, Swims, Boards, Sprints, Flags and Iron person events.
Nippers to note and watch out for – Isaac Ruscoe for gritty determination in every competition he entered, James Sweetman for qualifying to the State Youth Titles in U11 Ironman, both U13 Male and Female Swim Teams for excellent swims in their final, and Charlie Jackson for qualifying to the State Titles in both U11 Flags and 1Km beach race.
Finally our medallists for our club this year were Joshua Webber with a third place in 1km beach race, Lyla Crouch with a third place in U12 Swim and our U12 male sprint relay team taking gold – Lachlan Andrews, Lachlan Saw, Zac Atkinson and Joshua Webber.
