Nipper AGM - 28 Apr 2021

The 2020-21 Nipper AGM will be held on Wednesday, 28 April 2021 at 6 pm at the Coolum Surf Life Saving Club clubrooms. All nipper volunteers, parents, and guardians are welcome to attend.

Volunteer nominations for the 2021-22 season can be submitted prior to the AGM by:

- Completing a nomination form and submitting it into the box currently located in the clubroom.
- Email admin@coolumsurfclub.com.au

Important Note – Committee position nominations must be submitted by completing a nomination form and placing it into the box in the clubhouse. The form is attached here for you to print or copies are by the nomination box.

Nominations for other positions (eg Age managers, uniform co-ord, etc) can be submitted via email.

Volunteer positions include:

- Junior Activities Chairperson – JAC
- Vice JAC
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Carnival Team Manager
- Education Officer
- Uniform Coordinator
- Age Managers – U6 through to U13
- Gear Steward

Acer Cameron 2021

In less than ideal conditions, the 2021 Acer Cameron competition was held on Sunday. After two heats of four, each the finalists (Andy J, Issac R, Shane P and Amauri) battled it out for bragging rights. The winner will be announced at the Presentation night. Did you know, women represent 46% of our Surf Life Saving Queensland membership? These amazing women participate in all areas of club life from patrolling, surf sports, committee membership as well as mentoring our youth.

A lot of the progress that the Coolum Beach Surf Lifesaving Club has made over the years has been due to the pioneering efforts of our female members and today we recognise and celebrate these amazing women.

Happy International Women’s Day to all our past and present lifesaving members and all the wonderful women in our community!

First Aid Room Upgrade

You would have heard a while ago that the club was successful in receiving a grant to upgrade our First Aid Room area. Through a consultative process, the Joint Finance Committee has been working through the design (will be available on our website and the notice board) and costings. These have now been finalised and endorsed by the MC. Works are expected to commence by mid March. The upgrade will deliver a more workable and accessible First Aid space while at the same time providing improved storage as well as allowing space for lifesaving operational needs

Member Access Area

Just a heads up that in the upcoming weeks you will see some changes to the member area access. The fence that separates the members area on the beach side will be re-worked to make it more secure (higher) and to rework the double gate as a lockable gate.

We will then be installing fob access for all members to the areas – this means you can access the member areas through the door behind the shower area or through the front door on the David Low Way side. Access through the double gates will be limited to those people who need it e.g. Club Captain, Nipper Chair etc.

The aim of this is to provide a more secure (and hence safer) member area where we have better control over who is able to get into the area.
