Coolum Beach Surf Life Saving Club and FKP Peregian Springs are celebrating this week, with both parties agreeing to a second two-year sponsorship agreement, which confirms Peregian Springs as the major sponsor of Coolum Beach Surf Life Saving Club for a further two years.
The sponsorship provided by Peregian Springs enables Coolum Beach Surf Life Saving Club to ensure that its lifesaving equipment is of the highest standard, which means local residents and tourists who visit Coolum Beach throughout the year are protected by Lifesavers equipped with gear of the highest quality.
The sponsorship will enable the club to continue its arduous task of saving lives and patrolling the ever busy beach. In return FKP Peregian Springs are happy to be recognized as the clubs major sponsor and the partnership will help Coolum Beach grow in its tourism appeal as the Lifesaving season begins.
Surf Club President David Cush has outlined how imperative this sponsorship is to the Surf Club, “We as lifesavers now have a vast array of equipment available to assist us and to improve the likelihood of a good outcome when people need our assistance. This unfortunately comes at a cost with many of these costing thousands of dollars and requiring ongoing updates. An example is the defibrillators we use cost in the region of $4,500 each and require new pads and batteries every two years. This costs the Club a lot of money and is for equipment we hope never to use. It has however been shown that having this equipment means that we can improve the likelihood of a good outcome by up to 90% compared to if we didn’t have it. Having this sponsorship means that as a Club we do not need to hesitate when it comes to purchasing and updating equipment and we can continue to ensure that our volunteers have access to all and any gear that may assist in keeping all our beach users safe and offering those who do require assistance the highest level of care. ”
