Patrol Requirements For Competition

Must be proficient by 31st December of the relevant year (e.g. if wanting to compete in Perth 2008 then need to be proficient by 31/12/2007).

 

The Following Membership Categories Must Do Patrols if they wish to compete in Senior Carnivals:

·         Reserve Active

·         Active Senior (Open – Masters)

·         Active Junior (U17,U19)

·         Active Cadet (U15)

·         Nippers (U15)

 

Junior Activities members (nippers), to be eligible to compete in Under 15 events must have the following

·         Be 13 years of age

·         Be the holder of a current/proficient Surf Rescue Certificate

·         Have completed the required number of patrol hours as per SLSA policy.

 

Patrol Hour Obligations

 

To compete in Branch, State &/or Australian Championships must have a minimum number of personal patrol hours no less than 25 Hours for the preceding calendar year – 1st January to 31st December.

 

The minimum Requirement for all Active reserve Members will be 12 Hours

 

New members, members re-joining or members returning after a leave of absence are required to do Four (4) hours patrol per month

Those members gaining their SRC/Bronze medallion you are required to complete the patrol hours as per the above table from the date they gained their award. For Example John completed his SRC in November 2007 he is required to complete 8 hrs of patrol by 31 December 2007 to compete in Perth 2008.

 

Please be advised that these are the minimum requirements to compete, but as a member of Coolum Beach Surf Life Saving Club you are required to complete your assigned patrols as per the Patrol Roster.
